The Issyk Lake and Huns Ethno Village tour is the perfect way to spend a day fully immersed in the culture and nature of Kazakhstan, all in a single trip from Almaty. Your day begins at 10:00 AM with a comfortable jeep or SUV transfer directly from your hotel. After about an hour’s drive, you’ll arrive at Huns Ethno Village, where you’ll be welcomed with the traditional “Shashu” ceremony, a festive ritual symbolizing Kazakh hospitality.
In the village, a rich cultural program awaits you: explore traditional nomadic life, visit yurts, try your hand at archery, and take unforgettable photos with horses. For those interested, there’s a hands-on masterclass on making traditional Kazakh baursak with tea, as well as participation in the “Besikke Salu” ceremony — an ancient ritual celebrating the dedication of a child. You’ll also witness a spectacular equestrian show, showcasing the skill and artistry of Kazakh riders. Lunch is served buffet-style with traditional Kazakh dishes, and you can also join an archery masterclass after the meal.
After the immersive cultural experience, the tour continues with a visit to Issyk Lake, nestled in the picturesque Ili Alatau mountains. Here, enjoy a leisurely walk along the shore, taking in the crystal-clear waters and pine-covered slopes, or opt for a gentle hike around the area to fully absorb the serene atmosphere of this stunning natural setting.
The return drive to Almaty takes about two hours, with an expected arrival at your hotel around 7:00 PM. All entrance fees and activities are included in the price — no hidden costs. Your guide will be happy to take photos to capture your memories and speaks English, Russian, Chinese, and Spanish (please indicate your preferred language when booking). Customized private tours across Kazakhstan are also available upon request.
